Zirconium oxide is an inorganic non-metal material that belongs to the group of oxide ceramics. Stabilised with yttrium oxide, zirconium oxide achieves outstanding properties such as supreme strength and crack resistance. Due to their excellent polishability and low friction compared to steel, components made from zirconium oxide are ideal for use as guides or end stops. The material is characterised by a particularly high resistance to thermal, chemical and mechanical impact.
Thanks to its high strength and phenomenal impact resistance, it is referred to as ceramic steel.
