Many technical processes such as semiconductor fabrication, medical technology or material testing are conducted in a vacuum. A high level of vacuum-tightness is a key requirement for many of the components used in these processes. In addition, the materials used must not degas in a vacuum.
DOCERAM high-performance ceramics, such as aluminium oxide, CERAZUR and VOLCERA, are ideally suited to these types of processes. Their densely sintered structure allows them to be used in ultra-high vacuums.
Sample applications include components made of high-performance ceramics that are used as insulators and mountings in coating processes.
